Media and Public Engagement

I speak with journalists when vaccination or infectious disease is in the news, often while the evidence and public-health response are still developing. My role is to make the science understandable while preserving the nuance needed to interpret it properly.

The format shapes how much of that context I can provide. During outbreaks, that means responding accurately as the picture changes. Longer conversations allow me to look more closely at why vaccine confidence shifts and how public-health policy is shaped, giving audiences the context behind the immediate story.
